National Friends of Libraries Week is October 20-26, a time to recognize the accomplishments and support of Friends of Libraries groups across the country.
The Friends of WNPL (Warren-Newport Public Library) is a group of community volunteers committed to supporting the library through fundraising, programming, and raising awareness of library services. The Friends share a belief that a good library is essential to the intellectual and cultural growth of the community.
The WNPL community benefits from Friends’ support through Book Ends, their used bookstore, Saturday Sales, and special projects, including:
- contributions of over $30,000 annually for library programming for all ages, including children, teens, and adults
- summer reading and other literacy programs, such as the Creative Writing Contest, annually encouraging hundreds of readers and writers in our communities
- advancement of innovative technology initiatives (computers and electronic equipment) for the library and the community
For the price of your favorite latte, you can join the Friends of WNPL and share in community while providing appreciated sponsorship for our library.
