Every year the library celebrates Banned Books Week. But you might be wondering why?
Books that get challenged or banned are books that may offer controversial topics or have in some way offended the reader. But these topics are important to address both in literature and in the real world. Reading helps us open up conversations and get exposed to topics with which we may otherwise be unfamiliar. In addition, your library is devoted to fighting censorship, offering something for everyone and supporting your freedom to read.
Help us support these authors and this cause by checking out a Banned Book! Here’s a handy list for you to peruse.
