Join us for Storytime in the great outdoors! We’ll gather at Betty Russell Community Park in Gurnee to share stories, rhymes, songs, and fun! Registration not required. For more information, check out our calendar.
Storytime at WNPL
We’ll be taking a break from our regular storytime schedule for the summer, but we’ll be returning in the fall!
Join us for stories, songs, and fun in these age-appropriate, skills-based storytimes for children ages 3 months through 5 years old. Storytime classes run in 4-week series. Due to the popularity of these classes, please register each child for only one storytime per series. Siblings are always welcome, and walk-in participants will be accommodated on a space-available basis.

Storytime Class Descriptions
Super Babies
Ages 3 – 15 months with caregiver
Bond with your infant in this face-to-face storytime and build the early language skills they need in order to learn to read. Children are introduced to pre-reading skills through rhymes, music, book sharing, and baby sign. Then, practice social skills when you play with toys, listen to music, and have fun with friends during Stay & Play after storytime.
Fun 1s
Ages 12 – 24 months with caregiver
Build early language and large motor skills as children move from crawling to walking. Children are introduced to pre-reading skills through rhymes, music, books, and hands-on activities. Then, practice social skills when you play with toys, listen to music, and have fun with friends during Stay & Play after storytime.
Terrific 2s
Age 2 years with caregiver
Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and fun with your curious toddler as they develop early literacy and social skills.
3s Please
Age 3 years with caregiver
Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and fun with increased focus on more complex books, concept recognition, and developing independence.
Combined Preschool
Age 3 – 5 years with caregiver
Support children’s independence and confidence while building school readiness and social skills through songs, rhymes, books, and literacy activities.
