The Workshop FAQ

Who can use the Workshop?

Patrons with a valid WNPL library card in good standing can use the Workshop and submit 3D print files. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All patrons must sign a waiver form before using any of the equipment in the Workshop.

How do I use the equipment?

Most equipment is available in the Workshop on a drop-in basis during open hours. If you need more assistance, please schedule a one-on-one appointment.

Do you charge for anything in the Workshop?

The Workshop equipment is free to use. However, we do have materials available for purchase. Please see our materials list for pricing. You may pay with cash or card.

Can I bring in my own materials to use with the equipment?

Yes, you can bring in your own materials. Materials brought in must be approved by the Workshop staff to determine compatibility with the machines. Staff can disprove incompatible materials.

Can I get help with my project?

The Workshop staff are available to help troubleshoot and answer questions. You are responsible for preparing and completing your project.

Can someone show me how to use the machines?

If you are not comfortable with any of the machines in the Workshop, please schedule a one-on-one appointment.

Can I reserve the space?

 No, the Workshop is an open space and cannot be reserved.

Can I use the 3D printers while I’m in the Workshop?

Patrons can submit files to be printed; however, only designated staff can operate the 3D printers.

What are Projects of the Week?

Projects of the Week are craft kits set out on a weekly or biweekly basis meant to be completed in the Workshop. Please check our calendar for when new kits are available. Kits are available while supplies last.
